Lake Andrews History
Lake George named after Walter Franklin George
Walter Franklin George was born on a farm near Cordele, Georgia in 1878 and was a United States Senator form 1922 until his death in 1957. Having chaired the Foreign Relations Committee, George exercised great influence on both foreign and economic policy. In recognition of Senator George's distinguished public service, this project was named for him in 1958.
